WARNING: this page is dedicated to the beta testers.

Iunnuh 2: the curse from the past is an interactive fiction game developed by Aristide Torrelli with his Adventure Writing System. It is the 2014 sequel to the Iunnuh's pyramid (also spelled Innuh's pyramid) published in 1984 and that I also made available on this blog. I worked with Aristide and we prepared the English version together. The version for the C64 has been obtained with my aws2c converter and compiled with Cc65. To run the game (distributed as a "PRG" file), you can use an emulator such as VICE x64, you have to click and drag the file on the emulator. With something like the iec2sd you can also test it on the real hardware if you have it.

It's late at night, it's cold and wet and you are outside the British Museum, at the bus stop. You know why you are there. You think again to last years' events, to your studies on the treasury your father found 30 years ago in the Iunnuh's pyramid, the curse that killed him, he evil forces that were freed. Your father is dead, killed by the curse, and his colleagues too. Now that evil force is attacking the sons of those who dared to desecrate the tomb of Iunnuh's and his wife Hanyke. You are the only hope for you and them. Your studies made you find a holy ritual that can remove the curse and give eternal peace to the pharaoh and his bride. Today is the day. Today planets are aligned. Next time, it will be May 16, 2161: too late for you. Today you will be able to remove the spell, at last. But there's a problem. The ritual is described in your father's notebook, that was never found. Your hope is that it's still in the museum, along the other treasures. You are not sure about that, as in the last years you went here every day to visit the museum and you never saw it. But you have to try, by inspecting the treasures and the findings hoping they will lead to the notebook. Because if you are not able to find it before tomorrow morning, it will be the end for you. May the luck be with you, I will be your ears and eyes.

An interactive fiction game is based on commands typed in a relatively natural language. Here are some hints:

look: describe again the location where the player is present
examine object: describe the specified object
north or n or go to north: moves to the north, if possible.

It is currently not possible to save or load the game and to restart it without have to reload it. I may implement those, but the memory available in the C64 is barely enough to contain the game, that is quite articulated. Please suggest priorities. Aristide and I are very interested to know problems with English terms that may be misunderstood or typos and errors in the translation. The logic of the game has been already tested in the Italian version and should hopefully be solid.
